KSP seeks public assistance in locating escapee in Taylor County

Campbellsville, Ky. (October 16, 2017) – Troopers and local law enforcement are currently attempting to locate 25-year-old Shawn A. Cochran, of Louisville.  Cochran was being transported from Green County to the Taylor County Jail when he escaped from the custody of the Green County transportation officer around the Campbellsville Taylor County water company on South Central Avenue in the limits of Campbellsville at approximately 6:20 PM EST.  

Cochran is a 5'10", 200 lb., white male with hazel eyes and brown hair.  He was last seen in the vicinity of the water company wearing orange pants, a gray shirt, 1 shoe and was handcuffed in with his hands in front of his body. 

State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Cochran and are encouraged to dial 911 if they have any potential information regarding his whereabouts.   Citizens can call KSP toll-free at: (1-800-222-5555). 

Cochran also fled from police on 9/20/2017 and was charged with Burglary 1st, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking - Auto, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief and Parole violation.

Hausdorfer is wanted in connection with an on-going investigation. He is also wanted on Felony Indictment Warrants, and Probation and Parole Violations.

ROBERT J HAUSDORFER is approximately white 5'9'', 135 pounds, Bald, with Hazel eyes and wears glasses.

Adair County man charged with Assault 1st 

 

  

Columbia, Ky. (October 12, 2017) 43-year-old Donald Wayne Christenberry, of Columbia, was arrested today at 4:27 AM CST on South Burkesville Road in the limits of Columbia and charged with Assault 1st degree and Assault 4th degree (domestic violence) Minor Injury.  The charges stemmed from an investigation into a stabbing that occurred on an unknown area of KY Hwy 206 when Christenberry allegedly stabbed 57-year-old Brent Ollery, of Columbia.  Ollery was taken to the TJ Sampson hospital to be treated for a knife wound to the neck area and was then relayed by ambulance to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The ER notified law enforcement of the incident.  

Following that incident, Christenberry returned to his residence on Spring Drive in Columbia and was involved in a second altercation with 48-year-old Brenda Lucas which led to the Assault 4th charge.   Christenberry was lodged in the Adair County Jail.  Detective Nick Davis is investigating.    

Post 15 activity for September, 2017
 

  

Columbia, Ky. (October 11, 2017) During the month of September 2017, there were 18 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were two fatal collisions during the month of September in the Post 15 area.

Steven Williams, 38 years old of Russell Co KY was killed on 09/17/17 in Russell Co KY

Zachary Anderson, 20 years old of Casey Co KY was killed on 09/22/17 in Casey Co KY

This brings our yearly fatality count to 14 compared with 26 through this same period in 2016.

Statewide fatality count stands at 542 compared with 600 through this same period in 2016.

During the month of September 2017, there were 1124 citations written, 191 courtesy notices written, 1593 vehicles inspected, 691 complaints answered, 77 motorists assisted, 62 criminal cases opened and 291 criminal arrests made.

Post 15 to conduct safety traffic checkpoints

 

  

Columbia, Ky. (October 11, 2017) – Kentucky State Police, Post 15 will be conducting safety traffic checkpoints in the Post 15 area, which includes Washington, Marion, Taylor, Green, Casey, Russell, Adair, Metcalfe, Monroe, Clinton and Cumberland. Troopers will be checking for impaired drivers, children that are not properly restrained in child safety seats and informing the public about the use of seatbelts. These safety checkpoints will be conducted in various locations throughout the Post 15 area that are experiencing a high ratio of vehicular crashes resulting in injury and/or death compared to relatively low safety restraint usage ratio.

Adair County fatal collision

 

  

Columbia, Ky. (October 14, 2017) – Trooper Billy Begley is investigating a collision that occurred today at approximately 11:52 AM CST, 6 miles north of Columbia on Holmes Bend Road.  54-year-old John F. Bush, of Columbia, was operating a westbound 1981 Honda Goldwing motorcycle when he failed to properly negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck and embankment.  

Bush was pronounced dead at the scene.  Tpr. Begley was assisted by the Adair County EMS.  

Cumberland County fatal collision

 

  

Burkesville, Ky. (October 14, 2017) – Trooper Ricky Cross is investigating a collision that occurred on 10/13/2017 at approximately 9:05 PM CST on KY 1880 in Cumberland County.  44-year-old Paul R. Rose, of Albany, was operating a northbound 2007 Toyota pickup when she crossed the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne and struck a tree.  

Mr. Rose was airlifted to University of Kentucky Hospital and listed in critical condition.  A passenger, 52-year-old Terry P. Angel, of Albany, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Tpr. Cross was assisted at the scene by the Cumberland County Fire and Sheriff's Department.  The investigation is ongoing.   

Adair County man charged with Murder

 

  

Columbia, Ky. (October 13, 2017) – 31-year-old Reuban Sebastian Paz, of Columbia, was arrested today at 2:38 PM CST on New Concord Road, 7 miles east of Columbia.  Paz is charged with the murder of his wife, 25-year-old Linda Sebastian Paz, also of New Concord Road Columbia.  KSP received a call from the Adair County Sheriff's office requesting assistance at the residence at 4:20 AM CST.  

The investigation revealed that the two had been involved in a domestic dispute that led to the shooting and death of  Linda Sebastian. Paz.  An autopsy will be performed by the state medical examiner's office.  Reuban Sebastian Paz was lodged in the Adair County Jail.  Detective Bo Hensley is investigating.   

The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department will be taking sealed bids on the following items:

An investigation by Deputy Ethan Pike resulted in the arrest of two persons Tuesday night for trafficking in Methamphetamine and other charges.

At 8:35 p.m., Deputy Pike stopped a vehicle on KY 619, moments after it left the Cumberland Lodge Motel in Russell Springs.

Roger Dale Pendleton, 45, of Russell Springs, was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Clark District Court and for Operating on a Suspended License. An alert by K-9 Maxo led to the discovery of a small quantity of Methamphetamine and Marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

A passenger, Wendy Dawn McFerron, 38, of Stanford, was also taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

The roadside investigation led to Deputy Pike to obtain a Search Warrant for a room at the motel where Pendleton and McFerron had just been. That search resulted in the seizure of approximately 5 grams of “crystal meth” and more drug paraphernalia.

In addition to the initial charges stemming from the vehicle stop, Pendleton and McFerron were also charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Meth.

Both were processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Deputy Pike was assisted by Deputy Dustin Bunch, Det. Joey Hoover and Officer Bobby Pritchard of the Russell Springs Police Department.

Sgt. Mark Cromwell is investigating a burglary that occurred early Sunday morning at “The Shack”, located near the Russell-Clinton county line on U.S. 127.

Store security video revealed entry was made after a large rock was used to shatter the front door window. The male perpetrator then stole two bottles of bourbon and two bottles of wine.
