A Campbellsville man was arrested after being found naked inside a residence he broke into.

Lt. David Cain & Deputy Nathan Ginn responded to a burglary call at 8:16 a.m. Wednesday at the residence of McKee Moore, at 29 Lawless Court, off Scotts Chapel Road in Jamestown, after a cleaning service discovered the home had been broken into upon their arrival.

When searching the residence for possible perpetrators, Lt. Cain & Deputy Ginn found 36-year-old Joshua Morton sleeping in a bedroom.

Morton was arrested without incident and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center on Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespassing charges.

An investigation by members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of a Jamestown man Thursday afternoon for trafficking in Methamphetamine and Marijuana.

 

Deputy Nathan Ginn & Det. Joey Hoover obtained a search warrant for the mobile home residence of Timothy D. McWhorter, age 30, located at 42 Jenny Lane off KY 1680, about three miles east of Jamestown.

During the search, Deputies found a quantity of “crystal meth”, Marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

McWhorter was charged with trafficking in Methamphetamine, over 2 grams and Trafficking in Marijuana, less than 8 ounces.

The search was conducted by Sheriff Clete McAninch, Lt. David Cain, Det. Joey Hoover, Deputy Evan Burton & K-9 Matt, Deputy Nathan Ginn and Deputy Ethan Pike.

McWhorter was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Columbia Police arrest 2 people in theft and drug charges.

  On 10-4-2017 Columbia Police Officers were dispatched to Wal Mart to a reported theft. Officers were advised that a white female wearing a black hoodie had attempted to push a shopping cart with approximately 2,100 dollars in merchandise out the exit without paying when approached she left the cart and fled in foot with 2 bags that was in the cart.  Officers once on scene found that she had fled the area in a black 4 door car and headed east on the LBN parkway. Officers were able to catch the vehicle on parkway and initiate a traffic stop. As a result of the stop over 700 dollars of merchandise was recovered along with illegal narcotics.  Arrested were

Paul Meese, 25, of Russell Springs charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree Methamphetamine

Sarah Nicely, 30, of Somerset   Charged with Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking over 500

  The arrest were made by CPD Ofc. Josh Brockman and Ofc . Charles Greer. They were lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.

    Columbia Police Department arrest Adair County Woman after traffic stop.

       Officers received a call of a suspicious vehicle on 10-4-17 just before midnight in the Greenhill’s subdivision. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 white Honda.  As a result of the stop 31 year old Laura Franklin of Columbia was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree.  Franklin was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Officers Charles Greer and Josh Brockman.

 Adair County man arrested after on multiple charges after incident that resulted in a state agency building and staff being put on lockdown.

  On 10-05-2017 at approximately 12:36 pm Columbia Police received credible information that a threat had been made by an individual to come onto the property of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services which houses the Family Support and Protection and Permanency.  The threat went on to state that the individual was going to wait and “Pick off the employees one by one as they left the building “. 

    Columbia Police sent on duty officers to the building as well as deputies from the Adair County Sheriff’s Office and off duty officers who were called in to secure the building and staff.  Around 1:30 pm  CPD Sgt Gary Roy and Sgt JR Murphy located the individual and took him into custody where he was transported to Columbia Police Department.  At 3 pm Sgt Gary Roy secured a Warrant for the arrest of Danny Jeffries, 56, of Columbia and placed him under arrest. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail .   Charges include

Terroristic Threatening 3rd degree and Retaliating against a Participant in a Legal Process.  The case remains under investigations by Sgt . Gary Roy
